WATER RESOURCES
Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund (H.R. 720)
SUPPORT
This bill will increase the funding for grants to $14 billion over four years for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. States and local communities can direct these funds towards their most critical needs, including contaminated runoff from urban and agricultural areas, wetland restoration, groundwater protection, estuary management, and wastewater treatment. This represents a major piece of the Great Lakes restoration bill, and a major victory for the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes continue to be deluged by sewage overflows that pollute the water, close beaches, and endanger the health of our kids. The SRF is an important tool to help municipalities upgrade sewage infrastructure and prevent sewage overflows from occurring.
